A new EV Charger Monitoring System will enable fleet managers to precisely track and monitor their EV fleet.

The system, by Webfleet, connects to a fleet’s private chargers to provide real-time data on charger availability, occupancy, speed and vehicle-to-charger location. With integration across multiple charger brands, vehicles and locations, the system will help fleets improve operational efficiency and increase fleet reliability.

Speaking on the platform, Taco Olthoff, director at Bridgestone Mobility Solutions, said: “One of the most important things for managers operating EVs is to make sure they can keep running their business reliably. EV Charger Monitoring supports this. A fleet manager gets an overview, in Webfleet, of all charging stations at various locations, regardless of the supplier.”

He continued: “We want to avoid the risk of starting the workday with an uncharged EV, which could lead to an unplanned stop at a fast charger, increasing both time and costs. Our solution allows for notifications, should something unexpectedly go wrong.”

The platform’s dashboard also tracks charging behaviour, allowing fleet managers to gain valuable insights into charging costs, trends, charging times and consumption.

Daniel Lopes, Deputy area manager at Protectas in Switzerland, has already integrated the system into his fleet of 16 EVs. Reflecting on its benefits, he said: “Webfleet EV Charger Monitoring has simplified our EV fleet management by streamlining the oversight of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, making sure our fleet is charged and ready to run.”
